KorTerra, Inc. and MapFrame Announce Participation in Underground Focus Live!
Minneapolis, MN – July 10th, 2003 – Strategic partners KorTerra, Inc. and MapFrame Corporation announced today their participation at Underground Focus Live! The two companies will showcase their software interface, exhibiting in side-by-side booths at the show July 23rd and July 24th.
Underground Focus Live! is based on the concept that through live demonstrations, underground infrastructure professionals are able to learn more about their industry in a real-site setting as opposed to a classroom or conference. This is the first time this event is taking place.
KorTerra, Inc. plans to have demonstrations of their KorTerra™ software in their booth. The KorTerra product suite is specific to the damage prevention and workforce management within the utility industry. Their software has many components including: ticket receiving, dispatch, claims management, billing, positive response and payroll. They will be demonstrating mapping capabilities the software has through integrated MapFrame functionality. Using the KorTerra/MapFrame interface, at a click of a button, a user is able to display electronic map data for a particular locate ticket.

MapFrame’s FieldSmart software compresses and converts maps and data from core office systems – such as GIS, dispatch and work management – to the FieldSmart format. FieldSmart delivers this information to the field for immediate access to the latest mapping data. Throughout this event, MapFrame’s demonstrations will focus on using FieldSmart map viewing capabilities as a foundation for damage prevention initiatives.

Underground Focus Live is an outdoor event based on the ideas of live demonstration and practical application, UFL will be held July 23 & 24 in Manteno, IL on the Illinois Diversatech Campus. Underground contractors, utility companies, municipalities, and engineers will all be able to experience live demonstrations of a wide variety of product and systems. Attendees will be invited to walk down actual city streets where they will see utility locators, vacuum excavation crews, horizontal drilling machines, high-tech GPS and GIS systems, cable pulling derricks, sewer inspection systems, and much more. In addition educational seminars will be offered on topics ranging from utility locating to horizontal directional drilling. Admission is $25.00 at the gate, but is free to all pre-registered attendees.
