KorTerra Presents at 2009 ESRI Electric & Gas User Group Conference

Minneapolis, MN – October 26th, 2009 – KorTerra was selected and participated as a guest speaker at the 2009 ESRI Electric & Gas User Group Conference hosted in Atlanta, GA.  The conference focused on providing new solutions for the ESRI user community’s critical business processes, and included multiple presentation tracks over the four day conference span. 

Jeff Law, vice president of KorTerra, presented damage prevention industry solutions that involve integrating ESRI maps with the One Call ticket management process.  Utility companies receive numerous benefits by combining different sets of information they currently possess.  For example, One Call ticket management systems are built to receive, dispatch and process locate tickets.  By integrating existing ESRI information into their ticket management system, utility companies can now display facility maps that show the exact location of all their underground assets.  These facility maps allow all underground gas, water, sewer, cable, electrical lines and any other utility information to be displayed in the ticket management system, along with a geographical pinpoint of the dig location as provided by the latitude and longitude coordinates on the received locate ticket.  Merging this information in a meaningful way benefits utility companies with more efficient and accurate locates, less time spent physically performing locates and greater control and utilization of their data from one comprehensive source.
