KorTerra Attends 5th Annual CGA Excavation Safety Conference & Exhibition
Minneapolis, MN – March 15th, 2010 – KorTerra attended the largest and most highly attended industry event for damage prevention professionals, the CGA (Common Ground Alliance) Excavation Safety Conference & Exhibition. This year’s conference, held in San Diego, CA, boasted 50 conference session and over 100 exhibits and demonstrations.
During the three day show, KorTerra exhibited on the show floor, attended several workshops and even hosted their own seminar. Brad Johnson, a KorTerra sales executive, hosted a roundtable discussion and presentation about the value of integrating GIS into the One Call Ticket Management process. “The discussion turnout and participation was great,” recalled Brad of his session. “There were a lot of great questions raised and GIS integration examples given by the attendees.”
KorTerra was able to interact with many current clients and meet new individuals and organizations in the damage prevention industry. Chris Stendal, KorTerra’s president, viewed the conference as a great relationship building event. “Attending the CGA was a wonderful opportunity to meet with a large number of our clients face-to-face. We were able to discuss current and upcoming initiatives within our company and theirs. It also allowed us an introduction to many new players in the industry. Overall, we found the entire show to be extremely beneficial.”
KorTerra’s Vice President, Jeff Law, attended a CGA sponsored OCSI (One Call Systems International) meeting a day before the start of the CGA conference. The OCSI committee consists of damage prevention industry leaders across the country, all meeting quarterly to discuss the promotion of facility damage prevention and infrastructure protection through education, guidance and assistance. “Working with this committee enables KorTerra to stay involved in the heart of industry issues. It also allows us to assist our industry colleagues in accomplishing nationwide goals that affect all damage prevention stakeholders.”
By participating in multiple arenas during the CGA exhibition, KorTerra connected with clients, partners and new contacts in many different channels. KorTerra looks forward to continuing to participate in CGA activities at next year’s conference in Orlando, FL.
