KorTerra Launches New Website!

Minneapolis, MN – October 1st, 2010 www.korterra.com has received a facelift (no botox required).  KorTerra’s website utilizes new graphics, new tools and a new easy-to-navigate layout.  KorTerra built their website following the same established guidelines that are used when they create website for their clients.  The step-by-step process is detailed, yet simple.  Site design, functionality and growth goals are explored in the initial creation phase, keeping both the web audience and the client in mind.  Information architecture is then created and implemented.  Search engine optimization is incorporated throughout the site, and lastly, web analytics are deployed.  KorTerra is a proud believer in their web presence strategy, and can now display their most recent work, right from home, at www.korterra.com.

On the new KorTerra website, the two main goals were to improve traffic flow and communication.  KorTerra looked to make it as easy as possible for users to find what they were looking for.  How did KorTerra know what they were looking for?  By studying over a year’s worth of web analytics that were collected from their previous site, they were able to study patterns of traffic flow and identify trends of activity. 

KorTerra also wanted users to be able to ask questions and provide feedback instantly, without having to search for specific “contact us” pages.  A search for the perfect “website feng shui” was conducted, resulting in a very specific menu structure.  An appealing header was created, with an overlapping drop down menu.  All buttons on the drop down menu, and throughout the site, are large and easy to read.  Following the drop down menu is an interesting array of rotating slides, as well as a welcome video.  The three main KorTerra products are prominently featured in the center of the home page, and several different contact methods are listed as a footer on every page.  The left side contains links to additional services and solutions provided by KorTerra, along with two other forms of contact.

The newest page that was a “no-brainer” for KorTerra to introduce was a login page to KorWeb.  On the previous KorTerra website, there were many indicators that people were looking for a KorWeb login page.  The problem was, this page didn’t exist yet!  A login page has since then been implemented and is one of the most highly trafficked pages on the new KorTerra site.  This is a great real-life example of how web analytics help identify patterns that, in turn, help your organization better serve the needs of your clients.  If KorTerra had not collected and analyzed their website’s traffic, they might have missed a valuable method of gaining a look into the mind of their clients, and recognizing a need that was not perceived to be there.
