Spring Damage Prevention Meetings in Minnesota and South Dakota

Minneapolis, MN – February 22nd, 2011 – Each spring, One Call Centers across the country host multiple damage prevention meetings  in the area in which they operate.  These informational meetings are held to promote damage prevention awareness, assist the excavation community in reducing damage to underground facilities and improve overall safety.  Facility operators and excavators statewide are invited to attend.  There is no cost to participate, and a number of meetings also provide attendees a meal.

A few of the topics typically covered at the spring damage prevention meetings include:

• One Call Center operation and technical updates
• Group discussion on current damage prevention issues and best practices
• Damage prevention law review

This year, KorTerra’s Brad Johnson will be presenting at the Sioux Falls, SD damage prevention meeting.   In 2010, KorTerra began providing South Dakota One Call with a variety of new One Call Center services for South Dakota’s excavators, facility operators and homeowners to use.  Brad will provide an update on new technologies available at no charge to the South Dakota One Call damage prevention community, including:

• GeoRemote:  used by professional excavators to submit tickets to SDOC
