FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
KorTerra to Attend CGA Technology and OCSI Committee Meetings
Minneapolis, MN – June 30th, 2011 – KorTerra is an active member of the Technology and OCSI Committees within the Common Ground Alliance (CGA), and will be attending both committee meetings set to take place on July 19 – 20 in Chicago, IL.
KorTerra’s participation in these, and other similar, committees helps them stay connected to important industry issues that are faced today by One Call Centers, utilities, pipelines, locators and others involved in damage prevention. Both the OCSI and Technology committees meet quarterly, and cover a wide range of material including current events and issues related to the damage prevention industry. In addition, occasionally outside speakers are invited to update the committees on relevant industry information.
KorTerra actively contributes to these committees, and to the damage prevention industry, by participating on task teams. Jeff Law, KorTerra’s Vice President, is currently working on a group project as a member of the Application Task Team on the Technology Committee. KorTerra values the opportunity to work with many other industry leaders, and realizes the importance of providing services and solutions that will help the industry at large.
An example of the information or services provided by the CGA is the OCSI Resource Guide. The latest version, created in 2009, contains contact information for each one call center, OCSI member information, specifics about each one call center and a summary chart of specific one call laws by state. OCSI (One Call Systems International) Committee
The purpose of One-Call Systems International (OCSI) Committee is to promote facility damage prevention and infrastructure protection through education, guidance and assistance to one call centers internationally. Although the committee focuses on the one call center, the group operates like other CGA committees and encourages participation from all CGA stakeholders. The OCSI committee has multiple standing subcommittees including a regional contact subcommittee, education subcommittee, and data collection subcommittee.
