Utility to Contract Locator Interface

Are you a utility that would like to better manage your contract locator?

A Utility to Contract Locator Interface allows utilities to take control of the ticket data they send to contract locators.  Instead of a contract locator receiving a utility company’s tickets directly from a One Call Center, the tickets can be sent to KorTerra Enterprise and either reviewed or automatically forwarded to a contract locator.  Utility companies can then screen for tickets that may not need to be located, reducing overall locate time and cost.  Once the ticket is complete, a two way interface allows the contract locator to send the completion information back to the utility company, giving them a full record of all tickets sent and completed.  With a two way interface, Positive Response can also be automatically sent using the contract locator's completion information.          

One Way Interface

A One Way Utility to Contract Locator Interface allows a utility company to screen for tickets that may not need to be located, and send the remaining tickets to their contract locator from KorTerra Enterprise.  One of the key benefits of interfacing to a contract locator is accountability.  At the end of each day, a ticket audit report listing all tickets sent to the contract locator is compiled.  This list is automatically sent to the contract locator to ensure all tickets were received, and both parties have record of the processed tickets.  With a One Way Utility to Contract Locator Interface, it is the contract locator’s responsibility to provide Positive Response to the One Call Center on behalf of the utility.

Two Way Interface

A Two Way Utility to Contract Locator Interface not only sends tickets to a contract locator, but also receives completed tickets back.  In addition to screening tickets and the ticket audit report listed above, a Two Way Utility to Locator Interface allows the utility to store all ticket data, including completion data, in KorTerra Enterprise.

Saved Ticket History and Data
After the contract locator has completed the ticket, KorTerra Enterprise automatically receives the completed ticket information.  KorTerra Enterprise stores all ticket history and data in one database, aiding in researching ticket information in the case of a damage or claim.  If a question arises about a certain ticket, instead of asking the One Call Center or contract locator to retransmit a copy of the ticket, you maintain this information in KorTerra Enterprise, which can be accessed at anytime. 

Positive Response
With a Two Way Utility to Contract Locator Interface, Positive Response is automatically sent to the One Call Center through KorTerra Enterprise, utilizing the completion information provided by the contract locator.  In addition to providing Positive Response to the One Call Center, utilities have the option of providing Positive Response to the excavator as well.

Reporting
Numerous reports can be created based off of the information received through a Two Way Utility to Contract Locator Interface.  The valuable completion information received back from a contract locator once a ticket is completed allows you to mine and analyze data to improve locating processes.
