Another Great Year for KorTerra’s Annual User Conference
KorTerra held its 2016 User Conference on October 4-6 at the Mystic Lake Casino Hotel in Prior Lake, MN. The conference provided an opportunity for learning, collaborating and networking for customers in the underground damage prevention industry. Over the three-day event, KorTerra hosted a golfing event, networking reception and Minnesota themed dinner including a Bag Toss and Ladder Ball Tournament. Attendees were most impressed by the 10 hours of informative presentations given by the KorTerra team and Sponsors.
The KorTerra team spent Wednesday morning showcasing KorWeb’s newest features and how the increased mobile capabilities are streamlining ticket processing even further. The day ended with Don Lewis, Vice President of Strategy, sharing plans for future product development as well as how KorTerra’s product roadmap approach and “agile” software development processes take ideas and turns them into reality. “The user conference is an important tool for us to learn more about where our clients want us to take the software,” stated Chris Stendal. President of KorTerrs. ”It also gives us the opportunity to demonstrate to our clients that we are the industry leader.”
New to the conference this year were the Interactive Breaks between presentations. The KorTerra Support and Sales staff were available to meet 1-on-1 with attendees to provide product demos and allow hands-on interaction with the KorTerra Damage Prevention Suite. These breaks also allowed time for attendees to visit with representatives from conference guest presenters Rust-Oleum, Enertech, Opvantek, and Tri-Global Technologies.
On Thursday, the Product Deep Dive and Brainstorming Session wrapped up the conference. Attendees were engaged with seeing the new KorWeb functionality in action which led to usability discussions especially on advancing mobility. “This was a great opportunity to showcase our expertise and receive feedback on the different mobile products we have brought to the market,” said Jeff Law, Vice President of Technical Services.
Throughout the conference, attendees had chances to win prizes by answering Minnesota themed trivia questions as well as a fun yet competitive Bag Toss and Ladder Golf tournament. The Wednesday trivia drawing for the $100 Mystic Lake poker chip went to Tim Myrick from ARKUPS. Receiving trophies and a $25 gift card in the Bag Toss Tournament were Brent Massmann from City of Bloomington and Tim O’Leary from American Water. The Ladder Golf Tournament winners also received trophies and a $25 gift card and went to Laurie Burgess from Enable Midstream and Brian Krebs from KorTerra. The Grand Prize winner was Darrell Boggs from ARKUPS who received the Tailgating Gift Basket.
